Consumer Reports says Ostrich has "Most Bells and Whistles"

Whether you're soaking up the sun at the beach, lounging by the pool, or relaxing at the park, you deserve a comfortable place to unwind. Consumer Reports evaluated big-name beach chairs, including Coleman, Ostrich, Tommy Bahama, and Walmart. They found the Ostrich Original 3N1 to have the most “bells and whistles”. 

Portability

Although a bit heavier than the other chairs evaluated, CR found the chair to be much wider and longer, ultimately creating more comfort on the beach. It took the evaluators a few extra minutes to unfold and fold the chair back up because they needed to ensure the headrest and other components of the chair were tucked in. CR noted that the process was not difficult at all, and the detachable shoulder strap boosts its portability. 

Comfort

CR expressed their preferences on the breathable mesh fabric; they found that a thicker fabric would feel a bit stiffer. For those with those preferences, Ostrich offers other models, like the Deluxe 3N1, with a stiffer fabric! 

The footrest, the chair's five adjustable positions that can convert to a lounge chair, was dubbed “a few clever design choices help ramp up its comfort”. Unlike the Coleman chair, the back of the Ostrich chair comes up higher and measures 12 inches from the ground! The seat is overall roomier!

“We loved the built-in cup holder that is smartly positioned beneath the right armrest so that it swivels out to the right but takes up zero armrest space—it’s genius,” said Consumer Reports. The cup holder can be tucked out of your way! 

The wooden armrests were noted as wider than the others. There is also a cutout in the armrests to make carrying easier! They emphasized the chair's unique feature of the face and arm hole cutouts, which allow you to lie on your stomach. This feature truly makes Ostrich Chairs special.
